Le Clos Goutines “Marie Delice” 2006 – Languedoc, Saint Chinian

4 02 2009

I forget where I picked up this little Languedoc wine, but it turned out to be a nice buy. Lovely rich berry nose and a smooth silky flavour, not uncommon in some new world wines. Very drinkable and would buy again.

このワインは、どこで買ったか覚えてませんけれど、買ってよかった。バリベリーな香りし、スムーズな味で美味しかった。また見つけたら、ぜひ買います。

The Lane, South Australia – Adelaide Hills

1 02 2009

Recently back from Australia where I had the chance to visit a lovely little winery in the Adelaide Hills. The Lane is the realisation of a lifelong dream of winemaker John Edwards. All grapes are sourced from the winery’s own vineyards. Their slogan being “Grown in our backyard – Every berry.”

Lunch in the casual, yet stylish bistro was superb followed by wine tasting and tour of the modern winery with John’s wife Helen and Ben Tolstoshev. A great experience I recommend to do if you visit The Lane.

I just had to take some of The Lane’s wine back to Japan with me.

19th Meeting Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 - Viognier 2007 Grown in our backyard - Every berry Cabernet Sauvignon 2003/Voignier 2007

A couple of winery’s flagships:

Viognier 2007  (my favourite of the whites I tasted)

19th Meeting Cabernet Sauvignon 2003  (a lovely drop of Cab Sav with an old world feel)

Still cellared waiting for the right night to have a little Adelaide Hills class.
